When a tea is right, remember exactly what worked.
Your library of teas, each with the recipes you love saved as Perfect Brews. A new harvest starts from last year's recipe, and a printed label or a share link puts a recipe wherever you need it.
When a tea is right, remember exactly what worked.
Save the recipe you like best as a Perfect Brew: your preferred recipe, not the correct one. Steepdial keeps the exact recipe, your notes, and every brew that led to it, whether you come back next week or next spring.

How it works
- 01
Brew until it's right
Rate each session as you go. When one scores 8.5 or higher, Steepdial asks if you want to keep it. You can save any brew yourself, too.
- 02
Name it
Call it Everyday, Sweeter, Gongfu, whatever helps. Add a note like 'filtered water, warm the pot first'.
- 03
Brew it again in one tap
Open the tea and tap Brew this. Every number, including a full multi-steep schedule, loads into the timer.
The details
What's saved
Temperature, leaf, water, the rinse, every steep time, Western, gongfu, or whisked, the vessel you used, your score, and your notes.
How you got there
Each Perfect Brew shows the brews that led to it: what you changed each time, what you wrote, and how it scored.
Save any past brew
Found a great one in your history? Save it as a Perfect Brew from the tea's Brews tab.
More than one
Keep as many Perfect Brews per tea as you like: an everyday cup, a sweeter version, a gongfu session, a different vessel, an iced one.
Questions
Can I edit a Perfect Brew?
You can rename it and change its note. To change the recipe, brew a new version and save that.
What happens if I delete the tea?
Its brews and Perfect Brews are deleted with it. Export a backup from Settings first if you want to keep them.
Next year's harvest, with a head start.
When a new harvest of a tea you love arrives, you don't have to start over. Steepdial starts the new bag from the old harvest's Perfect Brew and keeps both histories side by side.

How it works
- 01
Open last year's tea
Go to the tea's Details and choose New harvest.
- 02
Name the harvest
Enter something like Spring 2027 and how many grams you bought.
- 03
Brew from where you left off
The new tea's first recipe is last year's Perfect Brew. Adjust from there as the new leaf needs.
The details
Year over year
Each harvest's page lists every harvest of the tea with its average score and Perfect Brew, so you can see what changed from year to year.
Separate histories
Brews, Perfect Brews, stash, and drinking window are tracked separately for each harvest.
Details carried over
Name, style, vendor, origin, cultivar, producer, garden, processing, roast, and notes come across. Harvest year and lot don't, since they're new.
Questions
Does a new harvest replace the old tea?
No. Each harvest is its own tea, so last year's recipe and history stay exactly as they were. Archive an old harvest to tuck it out of the main list.
Put the recipe on the tin.
Print a small label for any Perfect Brew with the recipe and a QR code. Scan it and the recipe opens, ready to save. You can also copy a link to send to a friend.
How it works
- 01
Open a Perfect Brew
Choose Tin label & share.
- 02
Print it
The label shows the tea, harvest, recipe, steep schedule, vessel, and a QR code, sized for a tin. Add the rinse, the water you used, or the cultivar if you like.
- 03
Or copy the link
Send the link by text or email. Anyone who opens it sees the recipe and can save it to their own Steepdial.
The details
The recipe travels in the link
The whole recipe is packed into the link itself, so there's nothing to look up on a server.
Scans reliably
The QR code leaves out long notes so it stays small and easy for any phone camera to read. Copied links include your note.
Friends don't need an account
Opening a shared recipe needs nothing. Saving it adds the tea and recipe on their own device.
Questions
What paper should I use?
Any sticker or label paper works. The label prints at about 3.5 by 2 inches.
